Consulting services offered by The Preservation Lab focus on assessing environmental conditions, storage and handling practices, disaster mitigation and recovery plans, and preservation/conservation workflows of primarily paper-based collections.  Services range from evaluation of discrete collections to general needs assessment of institutions.  Emphasis is on improving and lengthening the usable life of collections within the available resources of the institution.

The Preservation lab does not offer services to private individuals, only to other cultural heritage organizations.  A good resource for finding conservators to work with private individuals is the American Institute for Conservation website at http://www.conservation-us.org/membership/find-a-conservator .
